While our hot air balloons are weather dependent, our event continues rain and shine with a variety of activities and entertainment to offer a brilliant free day out. As Ashton Court Estate is an open green space, we recommend you come prepared for any weather and keep an eye on weather forecasts so you can plan accordingly.
Please don’t forget your sunscreen, hats and sunglasses. We recommend bringing a high SPF sunscreen and applying is regularly. Thanks to Bristol Water, we have multiple water stations around the site where you can refill your water bottles for free. Staying hydrated is key to enjoying your day out.
We recommend packing a lightweight rain jacket or poncho just in case. We comfortable, waterproof shoes or boots. Even when it doesn’t rain, the grass can be damp in the mornings from dew, and if it does rain it may get muddy so please wear appropriate footwear to keep your feet dry and comfortable.
As the site opens so early and closes after dark you are likely to experience a range of temperatures. To prepare for this bring layers of clothing so you can adjust to the changing temperatures throughout the day. Feel free to bring blankets for sitting on the grass. They can also double as wraps if it gets chilly.
Your safety and enjoyment are at the forefront of our planning. We’ve implemented several measures to ensure a secure and worry-free experience for all our visitors.
Our professional and approachable security staff will be on hand throughout the event. They’re here to help, so don’t hesitate to reach out to them if you need assistance or have any concerns.
To keep an eye on things and ensure everyone is safe, we’ve installed discreet surveillance cameras throughout the venue. Rest assured; your privacy is always respected.
Please do not be alarmed if you spot uniformed police officers around the site. It is part of our event license to have officers on site over the weekend, they are here for planned and spontaneous patrols.
Please keep personal belongings on you at all times. Don’t leave bags unattended or anywhere they could cause a security scare. And never agree to look after anyone else’s bags, no matter how genuine they seem.
In an emergency, always call 999 and look around you for help from event or security staff, we carry radios so we can raise the alarm quickly. If there is an incident, please listen to staff and any announcements. As an event team we have detailed emergency plans in place to help keep you safe.
Throughout the event, you’ll hear friendly reminders about safety practices and guidelines to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone. Your comfort and security are our priorities, and we’ve designed our measures to be as seamless and unobtrusive as possible. We want you to have a magical day out, knowing that we’re taking care of all the details. You can play your part by trusting your instincts, and if you see something that doesn’t feel right, tell security. Our teams will take every report seriously, you will not be wasting their time.
We have a dedicated first aid tent, with trained medical personnel ready to assist with any health-related issues. Your wellbeing is our priority, and we’re prepared for all kinds of situations. If you need medical of first aid attention, make your way, if you can, to our first aid tent. In an emergency, approach a member of event staff, a security person, or a police officer, any of whom will be able to radio or call for assistance.
We want the Fiesta to be a memorable and enjoyable experience for families. Here are some measures we’ve put in place to ensure a safe and fun time for you and your children:
The Fiesta is a family-friendly event, and the programme of entertainment is designed to be entertaining to all ages. We also run the Brizzle Kicks stage, which is focussed on entertaining children, and in our hospitality area, Sky Lounge throughout the day children’s crafts and activities are provided.
We recommend you place wristbands on your children, with your contact information. This helps us reunite you quickly if you become separated. Wristbands are available from our Lost Children tent, managed by Bristol Tinies located next to the Medical Centre, and opposite the main event reception desk.
NCT Bristol run a baby changing and feeding tent open to families across the Fiesta weekend. You will find this signposted our event maps and signage. For those with Sky Lounge tickets, there is also a baby changing tent within this area.
Big crowds can be daunting for children. To avoid separating from them, give your kids the same advice you would if you were anywhere else: don’t go off without telling you first. If a child becomes lost, our security team and event staff are trained to assist. We have clear procedures to help lost children reunite with their families, quickly and safely. From a practical perspective, it can help to dress your children in bright colours, as it will help them stand out in busy areas.
Ahead of the 2025 Fiesta we will publish detailed travel advice on our 'Getting To The Fiesta' page, so you can plan your journey in advance, before setting off to travel. Key things to be aware of include:
We want everyone to have an enjoyable day, but we understand that navigating the parkland can pose challenges for those with mobility needs. It's important to note that wet weather can soften the ground, making navigation trickier.
Therefore, we recommend ready the information on our Accessibility page, so you understand the additional services we put in place, making it easier for you to plan your visit and help make your experience as smooth as possible.
